Caregivers seeks ways to balance the competing demands of work, family, education, and life. College career centers must assist these nontraditional students and alumni. Join us for an overview of the work-life balance movement and a discussion of the latest trends and flexible work options. Explore the unique career needs of caregivers, including explaining gaps in work on resumes, negotiating flexible schedules, and searching for family-friendly employers. Review targeted services, programs, and resources that have been offered to this population at Columbia University, including tele-seminars, networking events, and workshops. Discuss what has worked and not worked and take part in an interactive breakout session exploring incorporating similar programs on your campus.
