This workshop teaches how to assess the impairment from bipolar disorder in elementary-, middle school–, and high school–age youths, and then map this information onto treatment strategies. Participants will learn to use a “levels of treatment” model that includes strategies for prevention, early intervention, active therapy, and maintenance. Through lecture and role play, participants will also learn how to adapt cognitivebehavioral, family, and psychoeducational intervention skills for use with bipolar disorder.
