Description
Congratulations! Youve just been appointed to your first CIO position. Now what?

Join Dr. Bob Owen, Vice President of IT and CIO of Western Kentucky University, as he presents the Essential New CIO Survival Guide. Dr. Owen has 25 years of experience in the field, and has been CIO at small, medium, and large educational institutions. He has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly sometimes all at once. This session will address a number of questions, approaches, and issues, such as: What should I do during my first six months on the job? What shouldnt I do? Who should I trust? How do I celebrate successes and mitigate disasters? Where do I turn for advice and support? How do I build political capital? Most importantly: There are rules that no one else tells you about and that they didnt teach you in school. Attend the session and find out what they are.
