Workflow Standards in the Blood Center: A Center's Perspective
Description
This program will focus on workflow standards as a way to improve standardization among staff and improve effencies within medical settings. Presenters will discuss the difference between SOPs and workflow standards, the impact they have on staff and regulatory concerns associated with implementing these standards. The approval, release and training processes will be described. Examples of workflow standards will be shared.

  • Describe the role workflow standards play in external and internal audits.
  • Differentiate between SOPs and workflow standards.
  • Explain the benefits associated with implementation of workflow standards.
