This presentation will discuss the factors that determine whether root canal treatment should be performed to retain a mutilated tooth or whether the tooth should be extracted and a dental implant placed.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify factors to consider when determining whether to perform RCT or extract a too
2. Compare the clinical survival rates of root canal treatment and dental implants
3. Compare root canal treatment and dental implants
