Dr. Crews is professor of dentistry and otolaryngology and director of oral oncology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center Cancer Institute. She has published and lectured extensively on the oral effects of tobacco use and the treatment of tobacco dependence.

Dr. Wong is professor and associate dean of research at UCLA School of Dentistry and director of the Dental Research Institute. His research focuses on oral cancer pathogenesis and salivary diagnostics. He is an AAAS fellow and currently vice president of AADR.

Learn about exciting new advances in the use of saliva for oral cancer screening and diagnosis. This program will explore the role of saliva in future dental and medical practice for rapid detection and screening of biomarkers of oral and systemic diseases.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Learn about a role for saliva in the diagnosis of oral cancer
2. Understand the research and technology behind salivary diagnostics
3. Learn how salivary diagnostics might affect future dental practice
