Dr. Hobdell is a visiting professor with the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London. He is a dedicated, seasoned educator, as well as a public health professional with a broad experience of living and working in many different countries.

Ms. Kelly is the founding executive director of Health Volunteers Overseas. She served as a volunteer with the Peace Corps and has a degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University.

Teaching Method: Lecture
Learn how volunteering can improve dentistry overseas and confront oral health challenges. Personal perspectives on sharing expertise in developing countries, basics of volunteerism and oral health care issues in these countries will be presented.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Understand how clinicians can help global oral health care
2. Know why teaching creates lasting improvement
3. Know how to add travel, teaching and making a difference to their practice
