We will discuss how the paradigm of shade taking has been embedded into our behavior over the last 50 years. We will examine and apply an evidence-based test to understanding color and shade determination using mechanical and digital means.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Survey color, color perception and other influencing factors
2. Understand an evidence-based protocol for taking shade
3. Implement digital and traditional methodologies for shade determination
