This introductory course will provide a broad overview of dental sleep medicine. It will focus on the causes and treatment of sleep-disordered breathing and describe the role dentists can play in the treatment of this serious malady.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Describe the fundamentals of sleep/breathing and the affect on health
2. Describe how oral appliances can maintain airway stability during sleep
3. Play a role in the medical community to treat sleep-disordered breathing
