The most recent CDC and ADA infection control recommendations will serve as a framework for this evidence-based, practical course. A major goal is to assist clinicians in understanding both the "why" and the "what" of the guidelines.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the rationale for effective infection control recommendations
2. Understand the application of standard precautions when providing care
3. Describe recent infection control technologies and strategies
