Dr. Hoelscher is associate professor and chair of the Department of Patient Management at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Education Association and also maintains a part-time private practice in Clinton Township, Mich.

Dr. Potter is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology and serves as the associate dean for academic affairs at the University of Colorado Denver School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Reinhardt is dean of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln, Nebraska. He received his DDS from Loyola University School of Dentistry, an MS in operative dentistry from the University of Iowa and an MPH from Harvard University.

Dr. Swanson is an associate professor and program director in the Allied Dental Education Department at the North Dakota State College of Science. In addition to being a dental educator for 25 years, she serves as a consultant for the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

This course will cover a wide range of topics related to the need for dental educators and the opportunities for dentists to become full- or part-time faculty. The format will include presentations and panel discussion.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Understand the need and opportunities for dental educators
2. Determine if being a dental faculty member is appealing to them
3. Develop a personal plan for applying for a position in dental education
