Dr. Fine is professor and chair of the Oral Biology Department at New Jersey Dental School. He received a DMD from Univ. of Penn and specialized in periodontology at NYU. Dr. Fine taught at Univ. of Pittsburgh and Columbia. He has authored over 100 articles and received numerous NIH research grants.

Dr. Kinane is the dean of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He assumed this role in July 2009 having previously been the associate dean for research at the University of Louisville for seven years. He has published over 200 scientific articles and conducts lectures internationally.

Dr. Papapanou is professor of dental medicine, director of the Division of Periodontics and chair of the Section of Oral and Diagnostic Sciences at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He holds a DDS from the University of Athens, Greece and a PhD from Göteborg University, Sweden.

This course will introduce new scientific information on the link between periodontal diseases and systemic disorders. Attendees will be exposed to new evidence behind the inflammatory and microbiological profile of individuals at risk of developing systemic disorders.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Understand new evidence relating oral disease with cardiovascular diseases
2. Realize new evidence relating oral disease with diabetes and renal disorders
3. Recognize new tools to prevent the subclinical outcomes
