Poor patient-provider communication is associated with lower patient satisfaction and increased risk for poor oral health outcomes, noncompliance with treatment/follow-up, and liability claims. This course provides practical suggestions to improve patient communication.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Discuss impacts of poor communication on oral health outcomes and treatment adherence
2. Describe liability risks associated with poor patient-provider communication
3. Identify practical solutions to improve patient-provider communication
