Dr. Burgess is Assistant Dean for Clinical Research and Director, Biomaterials Graduate Program at the University of Alabama. He reviews four dental journals, has authored over 300 articles, textbook chapters and abstracts.

Dr. Englund CDT is vice president of Issaquah Dental Lab, which was the first lab in the US to install the 3M Lava CAD/CAM system in 2003. In addition, IDL receives cases digitally from over 45 clients. Dr. Englund has been involved in a variety of research projects related to digital dentistry.

The speakers will discuss in vitro and in vivo comparisons between a digital system and a traditional impression technique based on clinically relevant endpoints. An experienced technician will also share clinical implications for dental laboratories.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Identify clinical implications based on the attributes of available systems
2. Identify systems' capabilities and limits vs. traditional impression methods
3. Discover digital technology's impact on dental lab communications
