Dr. Coluzzi is an associate clinical professor at the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. He was one of the first practitioners using dental lasers and recently retired after 35 years of general dentistry. He has authored and edited many peer-reviewed manuscripts, including two books.

Dr. Hoopingarner is an adjunct assistant clinical professor at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Dental Branch. He has Advanced Proficiency and Master's certification from the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He has been in private practice in Houston since 1973.

IMPLEMENTING LASER FUNDAMENTALS IN YOUR DENTAL PRACTICE: A LIVE-PATIENT DEMONSTRATION
The doctors will present a short lecture about laser fundamentals and then perform sample procedures such as crown lengthening, carious lesion removal or frenectomy on live patients to demonstrate the utility and ease of these wonderful instruments.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Understand basic laser principles
2. Observe typical general dental laser procedures
3. Appreciate the way lasers are used for treatment
