Practice-based research networks (PBRNs) consist of practicing dentists linked to academic centers. They conduct research to address questions faced in daily patient care. Dental practitioners will share experiences with PBRNs and provide preliminary results of clinical studies.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the rationale for conducting oral health research in dental practice
2. Recognize the kinds of studies best suited for practice-based research
3. Share results of several important studies conducted in PBRNs
