"The Covered Smile," a book by Ms. Lauren, is her story of childhood abuse, neglect, recovery, forgiveness and triumph. Ms. Lauren began wearing dentures at the age of 13 years and three months, after "situation hopeless" was written on her dental charts. As a speaker, she has captivated audiences across America.
