"The Covered Smile," a book by Ms. Lauren, is her story of childhood abuse, neglect, recovery, forgiveness and triumph. Ms. Lauren began wearing dentures at the age of 13 years and three months, after "situation hopeless" was written on her dental charts. As a speaker, she has captivated audiences across America.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the importance of the dental assistant role within dentistry
2. Better understand the difficult patient
3. Feel more comfortable selling needed treatment plans, guilt-free
