Local anesthetics are extremely effective drugs, however the "hot" mandibular molar oftentimes presents as a problem. In this program Dr. Malamed will describe the problem and offer solutions to it, including buffered local anesthetics, articaine via mandibular infiltration, and intraosseous anesthesia.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Describe the problem in achieving profound anesthesia in infected molars
2. Discuss the mechanism behind buffered local anesthetics
3. Describe the technique of intraosseous anesthesia
