This course uses patient case studies to discuss the appropriate clinical application of ultrasonic scaling devices when treating periodontal disease. In addition, emphasis is placed on the rationale for the use of a variety of ultrasonic inserts for the purpose of gross and definitive debridement.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Differentiate between the various ultrasonic technologies and rationales for use
2. Discuss the clinical recommendations for the patient, clinician and equipment
3. Comprehend the ultrasonic instrumentation techniques for periodontal debridement
