Trust in our profession has stemmed from a belief that dentists adhere to a higher standard of ethical conduct than the general public. That trust is eroding. This course will review ethics in our culture today and how it may be impacting ethical behavior in our profession and in dental education.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Recognize the historical erosion of ethics in the U.S. as portrayed by the media
2. Be familiar with polls assessing trust in the professions and their results
3. Understand attitude changes that have caused ethical problems in dental schools
