The Hispanic population represents 14% of the U.S. population and projections by the census place that percentage at one in three U.S. residents by the year 2050. This course is designed to increase practitioner's cultural awareness and the needs of Hispanic patients for better health care outcomes.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe Hispanic cultural values, health practices, beliefs and cultural awareness
2. Understand how cultural beliefs shape clinical encounters in the provision of oral health care
3. Identify resources for cultural and linguistic assistance

This course is presented in cooperation with the Hispanic Dental Association.
