Impression materials have never been better or easier to use yet there are a lot of inadequate impressions. Problems can be divided into three basic areas: access, material flow control, and delivery. Subtle considerations such as intense gag response and heavy saliva flow are just a few that require our attention.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Identify advantages and disadvantages of devices and materials for full access and saliva control
2. Best fit a specific arch with a custom or modified stock tray
3. Implement a simple way to do both closed- and open-tray impressions for implants
