Dr. Geiermann is senior manager, access, community oral health infrastructure and capacity within the ADA Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations. He is a retired captain of the U.S. Public Health Service and a former regional dental consultant for the Health Resources and Services Administration.

Dr. Grover is the dental director of the Center for Family Health, a federally qualified health center in Jackson, Mich. She is professionally interested in designing partnerships between the public health, private practice, business, educational and faith-based communities.

Dr. Homicz is a member of the ADA’s CAPIR, past chair of the New Hampshire Oral Health Coalition and the past president of the New Hampshire Dental Society. He is dental director for Families First Health and Support Center in Portsmouth, N.H.

What do you really know about that federally funded community health center down the street? They provide care to Medicaid kids and homeless individuals, but they also accept insurance and private-pay patients! This interactive session will give you insight into the mysterious world of FQHCs.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Gain an understanding of the mission, operation and fiscal management of FQHCs
2. Better understand the implications of community-based prevention programs
3. Identify public and private collaborative relationships to improve oral health
