Poor patient-provider communication has been associated with lower patient satisfaction and increased risk for poor oral health outcomes, noncompliance with treatment and follow-up instructions, and liability claims. This interactive course will provide practical suggestions to improve communication with patients.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Discuss impact of limited health literacy on oral health outcomes
2. Describe impact of poor patient-provider communication on adherence and patient satisfaction
3. Identify practical solutions to improve patient-provider communication
