Research indicates most Americans describe dental care as an anxiety-producing experience. Yet most dental teams have little education in understanding why. This course explores the etiology of dental fear and strategies to successfully manage it, allowing patients to receive the care they need.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:1. Identify in their own patients the four major types of dental fear
2. Assess the intensity of a patient's dental fear
3. Determine a patient's personality style and anticipated responses to stress
