One of hardest parts if not THE hardest part, to fundraising is motivating and involving the leaders and volunteers to “want” to help us raise money, particularly to do The ASK. They hesitate because: 1) they feel it is an enormous amount of work; 2) they are generally very successful business people and venturing into a new area where they might not succeed makes them uncomfortable; and 3) we use terms and charts that are foreign to them and they feel they need to learn a whole career before they can do simple tasks. In this session participants will learn how
using organizational tools; simple business language; and structured one-on-one meetings can and does lead to their participation and willingness to help the organization’s fundraising program.
