Description
Have you ever needed to analyze the data locked up in your enterprise resources planning system and been frustrated by the limited report-writing capabilities available? Or perhaps you’ve run multiple transactions just to get some basic information on one part number. This session will provide straightforward techniques and tools available in Microsoft Excel that can bring order to the chaos. A quick-reference guide that describes each Excel tool and technique also will be provided.

This session is intended for those with an intermediate-level working knowledge of Excel. It is recommended that attendees bring a laptop computer with Excel loaded on it to enable immediate hands-on application of the tools and techniques covered in the workshop. For those without the program, copies of Excel exercise templates and solutions will be made available for download following the session.

LEARNER OUTCOMES:
  • import data into Excel, merge data from multiple sources and conduct typical inventory analyses such as ABC coding, EOQ calculations, and summarize data using pivot tables and graphs. They will learn many useful Excel features including how to trim away troublesome blanks embedded in data, sorting, rounding, min & max functions, formulas and more. A quick reference guide is provided to each attendee describing each tool or technique.
