Alan Milliken, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP, has more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing, including production, logistics, quality and process control, industrial engineering, operations planning, and operator training. Milliken is a consultant in BASF's Business Process Optimization group and currently serves as NAFTA Regional Coordinator for BASF's global supply chain/logistics competency system. Milliken also is the vice president of education for the APICS Southern Alabama Chapter and a member of the board of directors for the Institute of Business Forecasting. He contributed as a subject matter expert on the teams that developed the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) program and the IBF Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF) certification program.
Curtis Brewer, CFPIM, CSCP, is the head of forecasting for the Environmental Science Business Unit of Bayer CropScience. He is responsible for the overall forecasting of volumes and facilitation of the sales and operations planning process for the consumer and professional businesses of ES. During his 10 years in the industry, Curtis has worked across many areas of the supply chain including materials management, production planning, capacity management, demand planning, procurement, and supply chain analysis. Curtis holds degrees from NC State and Auburn University in operations and supply chain management.

This is an interactive panel discussion on the issues globalization has created for inventory management professionals. The session features experienced professionals working inventory issues in large global organizations. You will have the opportunity to discuss challenges and approaches for processes, standardization, education, performance metrics, and information systems support for global inventory management. The session will help you make the case for upgraded practices and systems at your business by providing you with examples and insights. The questions you ask during this session will help determine the direction for an APICS research study in 2010.
