John is a CPA who specializes in serving hospitals. His expertise, which spans more than 30 years, includes Medicare, Medicaid, and operations consulting. John is a frequent speaker on third-party reimbursement and financial management topics.
He is a partner with BKD, LLP, one of the 10 largest CPA and advisory firms in the country and a past chairman of BKDs Health Care Committee.
John's expertise is also recognized outside of BKD. He is an active member on several national boards including:
National Rural Health Association's Government Affairs Committee and a past member of NRHA's Rural Health Policy Board;
RUPRI (Rural Policy Research Institute) Center for Rural Health Policy Analysis Advisory Panel;
Advisory Board for Dennis Barry's Reimbursement Advisor.
He is an advanced member and past president of the Southern Illinois Chapter of HFMA and has served on HFMA's Principles and Practices Board and on other HFMA national committees.
John is a member of the Missouri Hospital Association and National Rural Health Association. John has served on NRHA task forces and on several task forces of the Illinois Hospital Association.
He has a degree in accounting and an MBA from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
