ynthia joined Catholic Health Initiatives as Tax Director in November, 2007. ynthia’s primary focus has been taxation of health care organizations including both for-profit and tax-exempt entities. She has represented many tax-exempt organizations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland including several large multi-entity health care organizations and teaching hospitals. Her work has included tax research and consulting on a broad range of tax topics including transaction planning for related tax-exempt and for-profit organizations; unrelated business income planning; FAS 109 tax accrual computations; intermediate sanctions planning and compliance; structuring of physician joint ventures; structuring of physician practice acquisitions and dispositions; employment classification and payroll tax issues; executive compensation; and fundraising. Cindy also has experience dealing with the tax aspects of auto leasing.
