Product Manager in the conferencing and collaboration group. More than 16 years experience in product development, architecture, and management of wireless networking, network security and unified communication solutions. Held product and team management responsibilities in both large and small companies including Lucent, Avaya, Indus River Networks and Tatara Systems. Author of paper published in Bell Labs Journal as well as several patent applications filed and pending with USPTO. Recipient of Avaya Labs Cup (R&D award). Frequent presenter on technology issues involving SIP, IPv6 and voice/video over IP. Holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering.

Session will explore both audio & video codecs, choices of codecs and impact on bandwidth. Codec concepts, audio and video codec properties & selection criteria (not how they work inside), networking considerations.
