Remember when our goal was to be able to join the IT department’s conversations about IP addressing, VLANs, and Quality of Service? Well… that’s so 2003. The new requirement is to be able to talk to the people who are setting data center strategy. While a portion of data center is about data networking, it actually refers to a bigger strategy that includes cloud computing, virtualization, storage, SOA-based applications, hosting, power consumption, and disaster recovery. We lump all of that (and more) into a broader conversation about Data Centers. Avaya’s new Aura architecture, with Session Manager lets us take a much more profound role in data center strategy. In fact, if your enterprise communications strategy isn’t in alignment with your data center strategy, you could be missing out on some huge benefits, such as cost savings, increased reliability, and most importantly increased revenues. This session will help demystify these concepts and give you a starting point for being able to articulate “telecom’s” role in data center strategy.
