Chris Clauss joined SPS in 1999 and is currently Manager or Server Application Engineering. His team manages deployments and understands the technical aspects of many of the server based applications deployed around PBX systems. This incudes SIP, Unified Communications, messaging, speech recognition, instant messaging, and other server based applications. Chris also works on beta testing new applications and technologies, and has presented at many INAAU conferences.
Mike Taylor brings over 24 years of experience in the communications industry. Taylor joined Strategic Products and Services in 1993 and is responsible for identifying key technologies and preparing SPS to capitalize on them. Taylor also manages the internal IT infrastructure, pre-sales technical support and works extensively with strategic partners, including Avaya, on product development, pricing, marketing and demonstration to help facilitate SPS growth in the converged marketplace. Prior to joining SPS, Taylor held positions with Casio, Inc. and Rhyne Communications.

SIP is the new standard for PBX trunks, adjunct connectivity, and PBX networking. You will be asked to deploy SIP soon. This session will focus on what the SIP protocol is, why it is so heavily embraced by the industry, and how it can solve business problems. We will cover several real world examples of the successes and pitfalls of SIP deployments. Attendees will leave with an understanding of why the technology is so hot, how they can take advantage of SIP for their business and what roadblocks they can avoid.
