LEARNER OUTCOMES: Having adopted VoIP, IM, online video and other UC applications in their enterprises, many businesses are extending those applications to the smartphones of their mobile workers. Further, many enterprises are taking advantage of inexpensive VoIP applications and WiFi networks for mobile phones calls, savings hundreds of dollars in cellular call costs, particularly for personnel who travel extensively and face high roaming fees while in other countries. Yet UC applications present unique security challenges that differ dramatically from traditional data security methods, which cannot detect and protect against UC-specific attacks.
