The Content Management Process

Program Design

All clients are different, and all organizations are different in how speakers and members are managed and how fundraising is viewed. However, many clients deal with many common issues, such as membership requirements and tastes, multiple agendas, advocacy and education requirements, budget constraints, and technology issues. We start all projects by developing a detailed understanding of the current status and future requirements of these elements as they pertain to your organization. Based on this understanding, we propose ideas on how to get the most from our partnership. The programs that we establish together are designed to allow you to leverage our extensive association experience and our entrepreneurial views.

Content Acquisition

Effective management of content acquisition results in efficient development of any educational product or service. This component of the publishing process requires time and consideration, especially in light of the fast-changing technologies that can be used. We work to provide as many delivery options to your members in as cost-effective a manner as possible. With the use of networks (including the Internet) and our experienced staff, we work very hard to reduce the burden typically found in managing a large number of speakers and their materials. Our process sometimes includes the use of the Content ManagerTM, a network-based collaborative work environment used for collecting and managing the content of association events.

Content Management

Once we and our client determine all of the publication output options, we work together to manage content effectively and efficiently. This usually means converting and storing all materials to a pre-defined, unified file format that suits the finished products.

Web

The Internet is a tremendous opportunity to enhance the impact and usefulness of your event. We have developed numerous Web-based conference modules for our clients ranging from pre-event promotions to post-event certification modules that allow members to purchase on-line education. All of our Web modules fall under our SoftConferenceTM product line. SoftConference is scalable and flexible to suit your needs. We can host your SoftConference, and it can include e-commerce and user-tracking aspects customized to suit your needs. SoftConference productions can include banner advertisements and product and service directories, which provide advertising and sponsorship funding for your on-line events.

CD-ROM

Our flagship CD-ROM product is called ProCDingsTM. ProCDings captures the essence of your conference on CD-ROM. ProCDings products can include all speaker materials, association or event information, and exhibitor information. As well, all ProCDings products are flexible enough to include vendor software demos and videos, which attract sponsorship and advertising revenue. We have created over 100 conferences on CD-ROM for numerous associations and trade-show producers. ProCDings products are recognized as the industry leader in publishing your conference on CD-ROM.

Print

Materials published in print will probably always be a part of any event. We make this necessary component fit seamlessly into all other aspects of our work for our clients. In the process of acquiring and managing content we always ensure that if you need printed proceedings we can accomplish this economically as part of the requirement. Our print processes are flexible and scalable to handle needs ranging from small projects to larger projects involving millions of impressions. Ask us about our TotebooksTM, which are easy-to-handle publications in a 7”x10” format. These proceedings books are easier for attendees to carry around in their conference tote bags.

Audio and Video

This is where we began over twenty-five years ago. We still provide these services for our initial association clients. Need we say more?
