Description
Historically, advertising has relied on interruption to gain consumer attention. Today, new-media
technologies allow consumers to proactively seek out information and enter into a dialogue with the
advertiser. Gain an overview of new media (including Internet advertising, search engine marketing, search
optimization, website content, e-business and interactive strategies, really simple syndication, and mobile
phone marketing), and delve into case histories from two leading healthcare systems. Explore media habits
and other daily touch points of your target audiences, and generate ideas for using new media in your
communications.
You will learn to:
1. Develop a working understanding of the major new types of media that are gaining
popular acceptance.
2. Understand the fundamental differences between new media and
traditional media.
3. Identify ideas for using your website for two-way communication and
engagement with your patients.
4. Use new media to drive patients to your website.
