Charles Francis, Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer,
Catholic Healthcare West, San Francisco, CA
Charlie Francis is Senior Vice President/Chief Strategy Officer with Catholic Healthcare West. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic development, positioning, and growth of Catholic Healthcare West. Prior to joining Catholic Healthcare West in February 2001, Mr. Francis was Senior Vice President, Business Development at Advocate Health Care. His experience at Advocate included strategic planning, system integration, physician integration, culture transformation, merger/acquisition, new product development, marketing management, and ambulatory care operations.
Mr. Francis is the past President of the American Hospital Association Society for Health Care Strategy and Market Development. He received his Masters of Management from Northwestern University's Graduate School of Management in 1979. In addition, he served as a visiting lecturer at Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and recipient of Kellogg’s Health Services Management Alumni Association’s 1997 Laura Jackson Award for distinguished contributions to the field and the School.

Christine Gallery has been at Emerson Hospital since 1996 where she has overall responsibility for planning, marketing and communications. She is responsible for the development of three off-site health centers that have exceeded volume projections and she has developed relationships with academic medical centers in specific clinical areas, such as OB/GYN, pediatrics and cancer services, which have strengthened the delivery of care at Emerson while simultaneously increasing market share. Before joining Emerson, Christine was the Director of Physician Network Development at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center (Brighton). Christine received a B.A. in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and an Associate in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Christine is a current member of the SHSMD board as well as a board member of the New England Society for Planning & Marketing.

Pamela R. Knecht has provided consulting services to a wide range of industries and organizations over her 26-year career. During the last decade as Vice President of ACCORD LIMITED, she has focused on assisting the boards and CEOs of not-for-profit hospitals, health systems, and associations across the country with governance assessment, restructuring and development; strategic planning; organizational diagnosis and change management; team effectiveness; and physician collaboration.
Ms. Knecht is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and is an active member of the Chicago Chapter of the Organization Development Network and the Chicago Health Executives Forum.

Don Seymour, President,
Don Seymour & Associates, Winchester, MA
Don Seymour has been working as an advisor to hospital leaders throughout the United States for over twenty-five years. His primary areas of expertise are strategy, physician alignment and governance. He is a past president of SHSMD as well as a founding member and past president of two SHSMD affiliates: the New England Society for Planning and the Boston Society for Planning & Marketing. A faculty member of both The Governance Institute and the American College of Healthcare Executives, he is a frequent speaker at national, regional and state conferences. His articles have been published in a variety of healthcare journals and he has served as Executive Editor for Futurescan™ (SHSMD’s annual healthcare trends publication) since 2004. He received his M.B.A. from the Johnson School at Cornell University and his Bachelors Degree from George Mason University.
