She is a talented speaker and facilitator known for her passion for service excellence. She is president of Baird Consulting, an international consulting firm specializing in helping healthcare organizations foster a culture of service excellence. Using mystery shopping as well as several additional assessment methods, Baird helps organizations to understand their existing culture and embark on the process of moving from good to great. Baird has more than a decade of experience in helping health care organizations to live their brands.

Jill has dedicated her 25 year career to communication. She jokes that she’s a recovering journalist that has spent the past 15 years in healthcare public relations. She has earned numerous awards in both journalism and PR, winning the New England Society of Healthcare Communications’ Gold Lamplighter Award for Crisis Communication twice. She’s survived a baby abduction, a multiple patient arsenic poisoning case, a nursing strike vote averted largely due to communication strategy, and a hotly contested, 18 month corporate restructuring process

Don Stanziano, Director, Corporate Public Relations,

Don Stanziano is Director of Corporate Public Relations for Scripps Health where he serves as chief media spokesman and is responsible for all public relations and crisis communications strategies for the five-hospital, 1.8 billion health care system.
He has 20 years professional experience as a public relations consultant, congressional press secretary and journalist. During his career he has managed many crisis issues for health care institutions, from medical errors to mass casualty incidents to natural disasters. In 2005, Stanziano traveled to Houston with the Scripps Medical Response Team, which provided basic medical services to Hurricane Katrina survivors at a special clinic established at the Houston convention center.

Kay Taylor, System Vice President of Communications and Marketing,

As a healthcare executive for over 20 years, Kay has been responsible for strategic planning, service excellence, public relations, marketing and communications. She has worked in organizations ranging from 120 to 1000 beds in both system and site leadership roles. She has managed issues from blizzards, to strikes, to facility crises, intruders, and community opposition over hospital management decisions. Kay especially enjoys the opportunity to coach and mentor her staff and others on effectively turning an issue into an opportunity to demonstrate the brand promise. She looks forward to learning from the group and partnering with her peers on the panel.
