Dan Limesand has worked in the health care industry for 20 years and has been with Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula for the past 11 years. Prior to joining the Community Hospital team, Dan held positions with health plans, such as CIGNA HealthCare, and a national practice management firm, where he successfully developed networks using various capitated and non-capitated contractual arrangements for physicians, hospitals, and ancillary providers, and ensured optimal interface with quality, utilization management, and billing/claims payment operations.
Dan has served in several capacities with Community Hospital, first with a wholly-owned subsidiary, largely focused on management and consulting services for the hospital and local providers, and then assuming responsibility for several hospital clinical services. Since 2004, he has been serving as director of business development and contracting and is responsible for facilitating the hospital’s strategic planning process, managing business development, planning and promotion of select existing and new services and technologies, conducting department efficiency and process improvement efforts, and managing over 900 hospital-wide contracts.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a master’s degree from California State University at Northridge in health administration. Dan served on the Monterey Peninsula Chamber Board and currently chairs the chamber’s Government Affairs Committee, serves on the Leadership Monterey Peninsula Board, and chairs their Executive Impact Program.
