Kriss Barlow is the Principal with Barlow/McCarthy, a consulting group focused on hospital- physician solutions.
Her entire professional career has been in healthcare. For the last 11 years, she’s had the opportunity to use the knowledge gained from clinical and business development within organizations, to support clients in physician relations- retention and sales, physician recruitment and medical staff development.
A nationally recognized healthcare speaker, Kriss enjoys presenting at conferences for and she’s the author of Health Leader’s newest book, A Marketer’s Guide to Best Practices in Physician Relations and co-author of an earlier book, Physician Relations Today: A Model for Growth. She is a certified sales instructor and is on the Board of Directors for the National Medical Staff Certification.
She has a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Teri Cardenas is the Senior Director, Strategic Marketing and Communications with CHRISTUS Health.
In her current role, Teri guides over 40 CHRISTUS organizations in the areas of marketing, branding, communications, website and internet marketing, physician alignment, physician sales, and a variety of business development activities. Teri began her career in health care 17 years ago in the for-profit sector for a three-hospital system outside Houston and later held marketing leadership positions with The Methodist Hospital and Ankle and Foot Centers of America.
Teri received her bachelor’s degree in Communications with minors in Marketing and Psychology from the University of Texas, Austin, in 1988.

While there are no magical phases or scripts that you can use to gain instant credibility with physicians—there are some methods that get you on the right track with much less effort. Investigate proven methods and approaches for working with gatekeepers to get appointments. Discuss phrases and approaches that earn trust and create the right tone for ongoing relationship development. Determine how to ask good questions- how many, how often, and to whom. Develop your own approach for working through tough calls to ensure there is trust and clarity in your role and in the expectations.
