Nicholas Dowd is Senior Consultant at HealthStream Research, leading the development and management of national account relationships. A recognized expert in assisting large healthcare organizations in collection and interpretation of feedback from both physicians and employees, his particular expertise is creating tightly-focused improvement strategies based on survey findings. Nick has 30 years experience in healthcare. With deep background in physician relations, physician recruiting, employee relations, and marketing, his experience includes ten years with HCA – as HCA’s first corporate director of human resources; and later, leading the organization’s product development and product development in physician referral systems and the creation of early initiatives in managed care contracting. Subsequently, as vice president of business development for Pinnacle Rehabilitation and Mariner Healthcare, he managed the integration of newly-acquired business units primarily in physical medicine and pharmacy services. Nick is a graduate of Drake University and the University of Iowa.

David Fox, President,
Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, IL
David Fox serves as president of Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, a 340-bed community medical center located in the western suburbs of Chicago. He is also a member of the senior leadership team of Advocate HealthCare, Chicagoland’s largest provider of health care. Dave has over 30 years of executive experience in hospital management. Areas of proven expertise include building strong relationships with physicians, employees, and community leaders; creating collaborative partnerships between physicians and hospital staff; and, developing and deploying customer service enhancement and market expansion strategies. Under Dave’s leadership, Good Samaritan has received numerous awards, including being named a Top 100 Cardiovascular Hospital by Thomson and receiving a Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence Award (the Illinois equivalent of the national Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award). Dave is a graduate of Haverford College and the University of Chicago.

Michael McKenna, MD, Vice President, Medical Management,
Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, IL
Michael McKenna, M.D. currently serves as the vice president of medical management at Good Samaritan hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois. In this role he is tasked with the management of the medical staff office, clinical excellence and is a part of the medical executive team. Dr. McKenna earned his medical degree from Stritch School of Medicine, Foster G. McGaw Hospital, and Loyola University Medical Center in 1977. Dr. McKenna did his residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at Foster G. McGaw Hospital, and Loyola University Medical Center in 1982. He has been in private practice in the western suburbs of Chicago for the last 26 years. He has extensive experience in both hospital and office based patient and physician satisfaction. He is also a member of American College of Physician Executives and is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
