Preston Gee is the Senior Vice President of strategic planning and marketing for Trinity Health in Novi, Michigan. In his role, Gee is responsible for the overarching strategic leadership and guidance for the 44 hospitals and several health-related entities that comprise the Trinity Health system. He also oversees the development of strategic, business, service line, marketing and communications planning and execution, and helps orchestrate system-wide strategy, and provides direction in identifying and prioritizing market-differentiating initiatives and consumer-centric approaches.
Preston is a noted author and health industry thought leader on the subject of market-driven strategies for hospitals and health systems. He has been writing about, and lecturing on consumer-oriented models, such as service line management, for more than 20 years. His ninth and most recent book is Service Line Execution 2.0: Advanced Strategies for Progressive Hospitals. He’s published more than 250 articles on operational strategy for every major publication in the health care industry.
He is a frequent speaker at national health care forums on topics ranging from competing against niche providers to new business development strategy. His career includes senior director at Phase 2 Consulting in Houston, Texas, and senior vice president of strategic planning for St. David’s Healthcare Partnership in Austin, Texas. Preston started his career with The Quaker Oats Company in marketing and new product development. He holds B.S and MBA degrees from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and is a past recipient of Modern Healthcare’s “Up and Comer’s Award.”
