Description
Use of the SOREMAL e-mail process as a student communication tool has become vital to the Business Service office as a means to communicate to our student population and also save valuable budget dollars. The SOREMAL process has allowed us to eliminate the preparation and mailing of statements, an estimated savings of $19,000. per year.
The SOREMAL process uses a file generated by a popsel in Banner to select a group of students to receive a notification of a balance owed to the school. The Banner file is converted to a dat. file by IT and the student's e-mail addresses are pulled into the file, which is then processed by SOREMAL.
Popsels can be created for certain groups of students, such as students on an installment plan, and an e-mail be sent to only that group of students.
SOREMAL is a great communication tool that saves both time and money with no need to customize.
