Program Code: 1039
LEAD PRESENTER / PANEL ORGANIZER / BOF LEADER :
Arturo Paredes, Project Manager - Banner, Universidad San Francisco de Quito
Description
Those who applied to Universidad San Francisco de Quitos admission process used to find out their admission status either by phone or by a personal visit to USFQs Admissions Department.

Results vary depending on scores and intended major. There are several possibilities, among these are: admitted with no scholarship option, admitted with scholarship option, not admitted despite verbal, math or catalog exam recuperation options and not admitted.

Changes implemented in the admissions process includes e-mail notification to applicants together with their test scores and suggested next steps depending on intended major and exam scores. This notification used to be sent manually by the Admission Department personnel.

Banner Work Flow implementation offered a solution for automatic e-mail generation. Thus, the work flow starts when all fields regarding Admissions tests in SOATERM are filled adequately. It takes from SPAIDEN the applicants name and e-mail; from SAAADMS their intended major; and from SOATERM their scores for all the exams. Depending on the values found in each of these forms, Banner Work Flow sends out a specific e-mail with instructions for further steps and congratulations to all those eligible for scholarships.

Thus, Admission Department personnel now have more time to better perform their tasks.
