Track: Student Services

Educatsional Expertise   Focus: Banner Student
Program Code: 1281
LEAD PRESENTER / PANEL ORGANIZER / BOF LEADER :
Ronda German, Functional Systems Analyst, Academic Information & Systems
Description
This presentation is for any Law School that is interested in assigning anonymous Ids, creating their own anonymous grading application based on data from Banner, to produce a file that is uploadable into Banner's SFRSTCR table. Using this application, instructor's can define their grade components, decide if they are anonymous or non-anonymous, assign a weight and a maximum score value. On separate tabs, they can assign component values either anonymously or non-anonymously and view a weighted summary tab with the final component score for grading. There is also a curve/mean grade validation component that will let the
instructor know if they are within the acceptable distribution for that course. All necessary data values for courses, students, and instructors are fed to the application by a data file from Banner and instructors use their LDAP credentials to log into the system. Besides the instructor interface, there are also an approver and
administrator interface that allow assigned administrators to approve or extract the grades for upload back into Banner.
