Are you being tasked with implementing, re-designing or cleaning up Finance security but dont know where to start? Do the terms roles, objects, security classes, have you a bit confused? Come learn how one data custodian from a small institution faced this challenge and accomplished this task this past year. Attendees will learn what the terms Role, Object, Classes really mean and how they interact. By the end of the session the attendee will be able to design a solid security plan within the finance module and know who has access to what within Banner Finance. A sample matrix will be shared that can be customized and supplied to your IT staff that can be used to assign new users correctly within INB security. This session is designed for the functional or technical specialist user within a finance department that has to set up or clean up finance security for members of the campus community. The concepts learned can be applied to any of the Banner modules, though finance classes, objects and roles will be used for illustrative purposes. FOMPROF will not be discussed during this session.
