Description
Since April 2010, the University of Hartford has collected information from incoming students via Self Service, including a single payment authorization for an Admissions Deposit. This payment includes the total due for Tuition and Housing Deposits, an Orientation Fee, and optional Additional Guest Fees. Appropriate deposits (TBRDEPO) and charge/payment transactions (TBRACCD) are created. In addition, the Admission Decision is updated and the Student Learner record created automatically, greatly reducing staff effort in Admissions, Student Services, and Bursar.

The session will review the architecture submitted to the Community Source Initiative (CSI)used to enable processing of deposits with their distinct detail codes and multiple transactions from a single payment authorization. A generic Self Service Page included in the submission can be used with Web Tailor Info Text to quickly enable collection of a deposit via Self Service. The rule based solution can also be used to drive the Institution specific Self Service pages presented to a student and the amounts to be paid based on student attributes. Final payment authorization is made through the Banner Payment Gateway. This session will also provide a brief overview of the Community Source program; the process, its benefits and how you can be involved.
