Description
Online capabilities are growing to meet our imaginative drive to develop multimedia tutorials that make complex systems accessible to users. Technical how to documents are no longer just read. Their readers learn from text, graphics, video images and sound, and are guided by their own interests, expertise and need for information. At the University of Victoria we have found that combining classroom hands-on training with multimedia tutorials has proven to be extremely successful for training on Banner and other business applications. Having multimedia documentation available to staff after training not only helps to reinforce learning, it also reduces the number of requests for support. In this session we will discuss the demand for multimedia documentation, how it is created and maintained, and the related benefits.
