NIH Efforts in Addressing Health Disparities, Social Determinants of Brain Health, and Community Engagement/Workforce Diversity

Session Description
Leaders from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the National Institute on Mental Health (NIMH), the National Eye Institute (NEI), the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child and Human Development (NICHD) and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), will brief reporters about their Institutes’ efforts to address health disparities and inequities in brain health outcomes and health care for Mental, Neurological, and Substance Use Disorders disorders. Topics will include NIH-wide initiatives to address Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, to understand the social determinants of brain health and health disparities, all with the goal of enhancing health equity.
