Synopsis:
Differential diagnosis of orofacial pain is an extremely challenging aspect of dental practice. The complexity of neural networks involving the craniocervical area establishes an environment for much diagnostic confusion. Appropriate treatment is dependent upon accurate identification of diseases, syndromes or clinical conditions.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Review of current concepts of pain mechanisms
2. Case based discussion of non-odontogenic/non-TMD causes of orofacial pain
3. Utilization of various diagnostic anesthetic procedures
